Ratings
Every controller starts with the Observer (OBS) rating, with this rating you are able to login to the VATSIM network
with your personal Controller ID (CID) using a controller client (ASRC, VRC).
With this rating you are able to monitor the virtual airspace and learn from others. This rating is NOT allowed for active controlling.
Other ratings on the VATSIM network are:
- Student (STU)
- Senior Student (STU+)
- Controller (CTR)
- Senior Controller (CTR+)
- Instructor (INS)
- Senior Instructor (INS+)
Rating upgrade
To receive your first controller rating (STU), you need to take an exam to prove your ATC knowledge.
VATASIA is seperated in several divisions and VACCs, each has his own instructor for training.
To apply for a test you need to contact the respective divisional Training Directors:
VATJPN (Japan): Kimio Tomofuji
VATKOR (South Korea): Jewon Lee
VATIND (India): Daniel Doorgakant
VATROC (Taiwan): Andy Hsu
VATSEA (South East Asia): Timothy Kan
